The school would like to invite potential guest speakers as part of the day.
According to school teachers and co-ordinator Bethuel Malebe, the main purpose of the day is to inspire the youth of our community by sharing your career journey, a typical workday, education requirements, dress code, possible employment opportunities, motivational talk and many more.
“This will serve as an opportunity for learners to speak with someone whose career choice interests them and to explore areas they may not have considered before.
“The event is part of the life orientation curriculum for Grade Seven learners and as their teacher, I have a responsibility to make the day memorable for my learners. It is my responsibility to seek the opportunity to explore and prepare them for high school as they are in their final year of primary school. The learners must be psychologically and physically fit when they start their high school journey in 2019,” Malebe explained.
Nageng Primary School is calling on voluntary personnel from various professions and sectors of employment or organisation to be part of the historic event where Grade Sevens will be advised on various types of careers.
“Anyone with exceptional career knowledge is welcome to be part of the event and through confirmation of your availability, you will be granted seven minutes to share your career expertise to the Grade Seven learners. You can be employed or currently studying at a higher institution of learning, including artists, economists, scientists, engineers, accountants, entrepreneurs, medical practitioners, law enforcement, farmers etc. You’re all welcome,” Malebe said.
“We would appreciate your willingness to give back to the youth of our community. If you are interested in participating please contact co-ordinator and teacher Bethuel Malebe on 071 510 6115 or 011 906 6891 or email [email protected]
“RSVP by the September 14,” Malebe said further.
