Help the Mvungande family to find their missing daughter Mbalenhle ‘Mbali’ Mvungande (22) who went missing on May 15.

Mvungande, a Grade R teacher who was last seen by her brother at home in Vosloorus on Tuesday, is believed to have been kidnapped.

Mvungande was almost nine months pregnant when she went missing.

Her boyfriend, Ntokozo Ntshangase, who is the father of the unborn baby, said he last saw Mbali a day before she went missing.

“I was supposed to meet with her on May 15 but when I went to her home I could not find her. Her phones were off for the whole week,” said Ntshangase.

On Monday, Ntshangase said he received text messages from Mbali’s cellphone numbers claiming to be from her kidnappers saying they only wanted the unborn baby.

“It is sad that I don’t know what they will do with my unborn baby,” laments Ntshangase.

Its been almost two weeks now since Mbali went missing. Shocking images of her have been posted online, others sent to her unborn baby’s father.

The photos which are believed to be coming from the kidnappers show Mbali with a black cloth covering her mouth.

Communications officer at Vosloorus SAPS Capt Piet Rossouw said the family decided to open a case at Vosloorus SAPS on May 18.

“The missing person file was opened for investigation,” said Rossouw. “It is alleged Mbali received a phone call after which she packed her small bag with clothes and left home. She gave her younger brother some money to buy fat cakes. She did not inform anyone where she was going,” Rossouw said.

Rossouw also mentioned that the: “The investigations at this stage is also invetigating the possibility that the victim is not telling the truth about her whereabouts,” Rossouw said.

He added that the investigation at this stage is very sensitive.

Provincial police spokesperson Lt Col Lungelo Dlamini said the police are investigating cases for both a missing person and kidnapping allegations.

“At the moment the missing girl has not yet been found and the police are busy investigating kidnapping allegations,” said Dlamini.

The investigation is ongoing.
